about

This is the complete soundtrack for the game Lizard, for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Get the game at: lizardnes.com

To play this soundtrack on a real NES or emulator, use these:
NSF: lizardnes.com/downloads/lizard.nsf
NSFe: lizardnes.com/downloads/lizard.nsfe

You can also access the soundtrack in the game by pressing SELECT on the title screen.

All of the music data, code for the music player and sound effects had to fit into a single 32 kilobyte page of ROM. Trying to make music in such a tiny space was an interesting problem! At the same time, I also had to make sure it still holds up when sound effects cancel some of the channels.

The average track size was about 1.5k. I tried to make each track at least a minute long, with two contrasting sections to avoid listener fatigue, and feature the "Theme of Lizard" in some way.
